ComEd expanded the existing electrical substation located at the southwest corner of South Carondolet Avenue and East 127th Street in Chicago, Illinois. The overall project consisted of the construction of additional electrical breakers, foundations, transmission lines, a new control 138kV control building
GSG’s services included completing the following:
• Preparing construction documents including grading plans, geometry plans, erosion control plans and stormwater drainage and detention plans.
• Prepared permit applications and obtained approvals from the City of Chicago Building Department for the detention facility.
• Completed design of the detention facility which was a dry bottom basin with 100% infiltration, the facility did not have a connection to any sewers for stormwater discharge.
• Performed construction observation for the civil design portions of the project.
