The MWRD of Greater Chicago Addison Creek Retaining Walls

To address stream bank erosion and its impact on water flow, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) commissioned the design of retaining walls along a critical section of Addison Creek.

 

Scope of Services

  • Designed 12 soldier pile retaining walls totaling 3,969 linear feet
  • Incorporated wall features to support adjacent parking loads and utility / storm sewer penetrations
  • Developed detailed design plans, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates
  • Selected wall type based on geotechnical recommendations
