CCDOTH Lake Cook Road Maintenance & Monitoring

Professional consulting services were provided to assess and support ecological restoration efforts at two sites along Buffalo Creek in Lake County, IL. Natural resource specialists evaluated the success of best management practices (BMPs) implemented during stream and wetland restoration. A detailed meander survey was conducted to assess in-stream structures, vegetation health, and overall site conditions. The goal was to ensure long-term ecological stability and compliance with restoration goals.

 

Scope of Services

    • Performed meander survey to assess stream structure effectiveness and vegetation health
    • Conducted plant inventories and identified areas lacking vegetation
    • Evaluated condition of newly installed trees and vegetation protection measures
    • Monitored emergent wetland plantings to support habitat restoration
    • 5-year vegetation monitoring for annual mitigation reports (realigned Buffalo Creek & floodplain)
    • 3-year vegetation monitoring for stormwater detention basin
