David is a Senior Environmental Scientist in our Natural Resources Division and is currently serving a lead role with the Illinois Tollway GEC.  He has more than 24 years of experience in land-use planning, landscape architecture, environmental studies and construction monitoring and has successfully managed more than 1,200 environmental projects involving stormwater management, wildlife preservation, road and trail construction, urban development, and parkland reconstruction.  He has expertise in Best Management Practice (BMP) design, streambank stabilization, and sediment and erosion control.

David graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Biology.  David has always been an outdoor enthusiast.  At a young age he discovered a passion for fishing and gardening and enjoys sharing experiences as well as his garden extras!  “When I learned how to catch fish and grow a garden, I knew it was something that might stay with me the rest of my life.” stated David.  In 2016, David received local notoriety for winning the Hardwater Classic Ice Fishing Tournament at Silver Lake – in DuPage County, Illinois by catching the biggest fish, a 27” Northern Pike on a homemade panfish jig and ultra-light rig! “I was targeting bass and panfish to increase my chances of winning something and was blessed to land a fish much larger than expected.”  stated David.
