ABOUT GSG

Shaping the Midwest since 1992

Giving back

GSG Consultants is proud to sponsor charitable programs in and around the City of Chicago.  We believe at some point in life people need a helping hand.  It is our honor to participate with programs that create safer communities, provide affordable housing and educational opportunities as well as positive social activities for disadvantaged neighbors.  We contribute funds to medical research and affordable healthcare to provide support for those struggling with health issues and to impact positive outcomes for current and future patients.  By donating to these programs, we help people achieve their potential and sustain a productive future.

Joey’s Angels

Larry and Patty Mix created Joey’s Angels in 1996 after their son lost his battle with leukemia. This organization helps raise money for the Leukemia Research Foundation (LRF) to help find a cure for this dreaded disease which has robbed many people of beloved family members and friends. The primary fundraising event is an annual golf outing. Each year, this event grew, exceeding the previous year in both funds raised and attendance. In 2012 Joey’s Angels joined forces with the world-famous Bob Chinn’s Crab House in Wheeling, Illinois with its annual golf outing where supporters continued to swing for a cure. Historically, nearly $2.5 million in net revenues has been raised by Joey’s Angels in support of the Leukemia Research Foundation.

One Family Illinois

One Family Illinois offers an innovative approach to traditional foster care. Their model of care gives children the opportunity to live in a nurturing, stable, single-family home with their brothers and sisters in the care of a full-time, professionally trained Foster Parent in one of our Villages. Clusters of individual homes, with shared recreational facilities and administrative offices, create a true sense of community.  The strength of the Village lies in the collective power of the entire community, who work together to help children gain confidence, trust, and a renewed sense of hope.  The aim of this organization is to provide One Family Illinois youth with the tools and resources they need to grow into caring, responsible, self-reliant adults.

Agape Home Daycare

Agape Home Daycare provides a fun and safe learning environment for children, while encouraging social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. Specializing in quality personal and individualized care in a warm and loving home. The home is designed to provide both a nurturing home atmosphere along with large, dedicated areas for the children to actively learn and play in.

The Resurrection Project

The Resurrection Project was founded by six churches and concerned neighbors in 1990 to address the rising blight and crime in the Pilsen neighborhood. Each church committed $5,000 in seed funds. Since then, The Resurrection Project has turned that seed capital into more than $346 million in community investment in the form of homes for ownership, rental housing, and community facilities (including two childcare centers) in its target neighborhoods of Pilsen, Little Village, and Back of the Yards neighborhoods in Chicago, IL.

The Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council (BYNC)

The Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council (BYNC), located at 1751 W. 47th Street in Chicago, is among the oldest not-for-profit community organizations in the United States, serving a large area of Chicago’s Southwest Side, which includes the communities of Brighton Park, McKinley Park, and New City. The Back of the Yards area suffered from social disorganization, unemployment, poor housing, and juvenile delinquency. BYNC was created in response to these growing social issues with a mission to enhance the general welfare of all residents, organizations, and businesses in the service area. This is accomplished by integrating social services and economic development programs into a single community-based intermediary organization, (the BYNC) which leads a holistic approach to the social problems that have plagued the Back of the Yards neighborhood and surrounding communities
