Storm Water Management

Stormwater is the top source of water resource contamination in the United States today, contributing to public health problems and extensive natural resource loss according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Both public and private sector entities must prevent, control, and treat stormwater or face possible severe regulatory action. GSG has the expertise and experience to meet today’s storm water regulations by providing design and permitting services for new facilities, management services for operating facilities, and compliance inspection services during construction.

To ensure that our clients remain in full regulatory compliance, our stormwater professionals can provide services to verify that construction BMPs are properly implemented and that structural BMPs are successfully built and maintained. We are also experienced in evaluating programmatic BMPs already in place and comparing the effectiveness of these programs to local, state and federal regulations to assess an organization’s risk.

Additionally, our engineers can design storm water systems that prevent flooding, control water quality degradation, and enhance the natural environment. We do this through the use of dry detention basins, wet detention basins, parking lot storage, constructed wetlands, bioretention facilities, vegetated swales, vegetated filter stripsand underground storage systems to suit each particular project.
